"Listen, there are people that are coming down the pilot ladder of the prow. You go up that pilot ladder, get on that ship and tell me how many people are still on board. And what they need. Is that clear? You need to tell me if there are children, women or people in need of assistance. And tell me the exact number of each of these categories. Is that clear? Listen Schettino, that you saved yourself from the sea, but I am going to... I'm going to make sure you get in trouble. ...I am going to make you pay for this. Go on board."
Captain Gregorio De Falco

bullet Westwood's sizzling form spurred McIlroy's to win Hong Kong title corner

Irish golfer Rory Mcilroy has revealed that Lee Westwood's sizzling Sun City form spurred him to glory in Hong Kong.

The US Open champ, 22, fired a brilliant final-round five-under-par 65 to bag the 293,000 pounds first prize at Hong Kong Golf Club.

McIlroy holed out from a bunker for a birdie three on the 18th to finish 12 under and seal a two-shot win over Frenchman Gregory Havret, The Sun reports.

But the Ulster ace admitted he was protecting his world No 2 ranking after Ryder Cup pal Westwood, the world No 3, produced a third-round course-record 62 to effectively secure victory at South Africa's Nedbank Challenge.

McIlroy was quoted, as saying: "I woke up this morning and saw Lee shoot 62 and that was another little bit of motivation." (ANI)

We work strenuously to bring our readers a completely independent perspective of Hong Kong news. Our software programmers, editors, journalists and affiliated wire services are all dedicated to producing the best journalism possible.

This in a world where conflicts of interest pervade business empires, and political dynasties, and where a shrinking number of media proprietors are growing their interests at the expensive of diversity of media ownership. The Hong Kong Herald is an independent online newspaper. Our focus primarily is to produce the latest breaking stories out of Hong Kong.

We also cover the nation. Regional news too is a priority, as is our extensive world news coverage. For a Hong Kong weather report, local news, breaking international headlines, or what's happening in sports, the Hong Kong Herald is for you.

Our Business Centre too is active 24 hours a day, bringing you the latest market updates from key global centres like Tokyo, Sydney, London, Paris, Berlin, and New York. Foreign exchange rates are a regular feature, and we provides a vast range of general interest news covering topics like business travel, seniors, womens interest, and lifestyle stories.
