    Hong Kong Herald
    Saturday 4th September, 2010
    (IANS)

A monster potato in Britain, weighing nearly 3.75 kg, has smashed the world record.

Peter Glazebrook, who is an amateur gardener, set the new record by growing the Kondor variety.

The huge potato was officially weighed at the National Gardening Show in Shepton Mallet, Somerset, The Sun reported Saturday.

'The secret is starting with the right seed. It's learning how to grow them and putting a lot of effort in,' Glazebrook was quoted as saying.
