Tibetan exiles try to rush into Chinese Embassy in Delhi

Tibetans living-in-exile in India tried to break in the Chinese Embassy here today, a day ahead of the 51st anniversary of the Tibetan National Uprising day.

Brandishing Tibetan flags, men and women rushed towards the Chinese Embassy but were stopped by the policemen standing guard outside the Embassy.

The protesters shouting slogans of 'We Want Freedom' posed a hard struggle for the policemen to stop them from going towards the Chinese Embassy.

"Tibet is not part of China. Justice has been raped in Tibet. We want freedom, we don't want Chinese ... Justice has been raped in Tibet. We want freedom. No human rights in Tibet... We want freedom," said a protester.

China has defended its iron-fisted rule in Tibet, saying not only did it free a million Tibetan serfs but it also poured billions of dollars into the Himalayan region for development. (ANI)
