UK government gives electricity rebate to pensioners
    Hong Kong Herald
    Sunday 21st March, 2010

The UK government has announced a quarter of a million people over the age of 70 will receive an £80 electricity discount this summer.

To qualify they will have to be on a very low income to receive rebates from the six top energy suppliers.

The rebate will be automatic for all those who qualify.

To get the discount, they will have to assure authorities they earn no more than £98.40 a week per single or £132.60 for a couple.
